RGo Robotics Announces Support for NVIDIA Jetson Orin System-on-Modules,
Enabling Breakthrough Visual Perc
eption for Wide Range of Mobile Robot Applications

Power-efficient developer kits and production modules accelerate
mobile robot manufacturers’ time to market.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - (March 21, 2023) - RGo Robotics, a pioneer in artificial perception technology that enables mobile robots to understand complex surroundings and operate autonomously, today at NVIDIA GTC announced that its Perception Engine software is now certified to run on NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ system-on-modules.

With this launch, RGo continues to build on the significant momentum behind the NVIDIA Jetson platform for edge AI and robotics worldwide. RGo Robotics develops disruptive AI-powered technology for autonomous mobile robots, which allows them to achieve 3D human-level perception. Its Perception Engine gives mobile robots the ability to understand complex surroundings and operate autonomously like humans.

The system delivers robust, centimeter-scale position accuracy in any environment. It surpasses the cost and performance capabilities of traditional LiDAR and reflector-based positioning systems, while meeting the high performance and robustness standards of industrial systems. The perception data is provided over its API and is then consumed by the robot control system that is responsible for path planning and autonomous behaviors.

“RGo’s visual perception stack enables the next generation of truly intelligent mobile robots that can handle dynamic and hybrid environments. With the full lineup of new NVIDIA Jetson Orin modules and our shared compute architecture, our customers can select one of NVIDIA’s pin-compatible Orin modules to match their extra computational needs,” said RGo’s CEO and co-founder Amir Bousani. “These new platforms provide unprecedented compute resources, giving users the headroom to ship products faster with the flexibility to scale accordingly to other Jetson modules as application requirements evolve.”

Support for NVIDIA Jetson Orin modules will be available in Q2 2023, starting with the cost-efficient Jetson Orin Nano. Perception Engine’s patent-pending computer vision and AI algorithms do not use the full processing power of the Orin modules, allowing the robot manufacturer to run its application stack on the same platform – reducing hardware costs and overall system complexity.

Availability of the full lineup of Jetson Orin production modules and new developer kit was announced at GTC, a global conference for the era of AI and the metaverse, running through March 23. Register to learn more from NVIDIA Jetson engineers during the Connect With Experts and other robotics sessions, also available on demand.
