Perception Engine is a modular AI software stack, that provides, through an API, in real-time, localization, obstacle detection and object recognition data. It is based on state-of-the-art proprietary computer vision, AI & cognitive algorithms and can be used to enable autonomous driving of robots, remote operations, tracking of assets and inventory, geofencing, and dynamic shared mapping.
VISUAL SLAM AND MORE…
At the core of the RGo technology is visual-inertial SLAM algorithms that process images from a camera, detecting notable features in the environment which are used to understand where the machine is in space. But RGo's solution is much more than SLAM, It incorporates proprietary learning algorithms that enable learning-on the go, adapting to changes and enabling human like behavior and high accuracy, even in complex and dynamic environments.
BUILT FOR ROBUSTNESS
At the core of the RGo Perception Engine is a flexible sensor fusion engine that supports different types of sensors to fit the specific application needs: Vision, IMU, Encoders, GNSS, Depth. Self-aware weighting algorithms account for each sensor’s strengths & weaknesses increasing the solution overall robustness and reliability. The solution was trained on data from thousands of kilometers traveled in diverse environments, including industrial, domestic, and commercial, both indoors and outdoors and in many types of surfaces and lighting conditions
FULL PERCEPTION SOLUTION
Depth data from a stereo camera, time of flight sensor or LIDAR is processed to build an occupancy 3D map, which can be used for obstacle detection. Adding advanced AI algorithms for semantic segmentation and object recognition algorithms, the machine gains human-level perception with the ability to see, understand and adapt.
OPTIMIZED TO WORK ON LOW-COST HARDWARE REFERENCE DESIGN
Perception Engine runs on ultra-low-cost, low-power hardware that uses commercially available components. RGo Robotics offers the hardware for evaluations and low volume production. For high volume production, manufactures can license the reference design and source the hardware from their preferred vendors.
